Abstract:

The Geospatial Multi-Agency Coordination Group, or GeoMAC, is an internet-based mapping tool originally designed for fire managers to access online maps of current fire locations and perimeters in the conterminous 48 states and Alaska. Perimeters are submitted to GeoMAC by field offices and then posted to an FTP site for downloading. This file contains fire perimeters submitted during the years 2001-2007. These are for the most part the final reported perimeters.

Fire perimeters are submitted to GeoMAC by field offices and then posted on the FTP site for downloading. While every effort is made to provide accurate and complete information there may be gaps in daily coverage. Please Note: Files only contain perimeter data as they are submitted by field offices. Files do not contain all fires. This data is not the authoritative fire perimeter data and should not be used as such.
